Guestmarks

Terms of service

The small print, kept honest.

These terms apply when you create an account, publish an event, or use a Guestmarks event page as a guest. Publishing an event means you accept them. Your contract is with Hider Digital Ltd. Company number and registered office: to be inserted before launch.

What Guestmarks is

Guestmarks lets event hosts build an unlisted event page — website sections, RSVP, gift registry, photo and video collection, and a live slideshow — shared with guests through a link and QR code. Building and previewing an event is free; publishing it to guests requires a plan purchase. Anyone with a valid link may be able to view approved media; links can be forwarded.

Your account

You need an account (via our sign-in provider, Clerk) to create events, and you must be at least 18 to hold one. Keep your sign-in details safe: anyone with access to your account can manage your events, including deleting media. You must provide a working email address — that's where we send purchase confirmations and storage-expiry warnings.

Plans, payment & refunds

Plans are one-time payments per event, processed by Stripe. The price, storage allowance, video limits, and media retention period for each plan are shown at checkout and on the pricing page; the price shown is the price you pay.

Add-ons, upgrades & subscriptions: extra storage for an event is a one-time purchase that lasts for that plan's retention period and does not extend it. If you enable auto top-up, we charge your saved card £20 for each additional 100 GB automatically when your event's storage runs low (up to the per-event limit), and email you each time; you can turn it off whenever you like. Upgrading Premium to Ultimate costs the difference between the tiers and applies immediately. Guestmarks Studio is a monthly subscription (with optional storage top-ups billed monthly and prorated); Studio events stay live while the subscription is active, with a 60-day download window after cancellation.

Cancellation and refunds: checkout asks you separately to request that the service begin immediately during the statutory cancellation period. If you cancel after it begins, you may have to pay for service supplied up to cancellation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights; final wording requires review before launch.

Your content

You and your guests own the photos, videos, and text you upload. You grant us the limited licence we need to run the service: storing your content, safely processing it, generating previews and thumbnails, displaying approved media, securing the service, and meeting legal duties. We never sell your content or use it for advertising.

As the host, you're responsible for what appears on your event page: make sure you have the right to share what you publish, and that guests whose photos are collected are happy to be photographed. Uploaders must be 18 or over and entitled to share media depicting a child within the event. Organisers and uploaders can remove permitted submissions.

Acceptable use

Don't use Guestmarks to store or share content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or harms others — and don't attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service. We may suspend or remove events that break these rules, and we'll tell you if we do unless the law prevents it. Anyone can report content they believe is unlawful to hello@guestmarks.com, or use the accountless report and complaints form. To keep the service safe and meet our legal obligations, our team may review and moderate content hosted on Guestmarks — including removing uploads or messages — where required by these terms or applicable law.

Storage & retention

Premium media is retained for six calendar months and Ultimate media for twelve calendar months from the fixed retention anchor shown by the service. We aim to email you 30 and 7 days before it ends so you can download everything — the Download All button packages your originals. Before the period ends you may extend it by 12 months at a time with a one-time archive renewal (£15); renewals are never charged automatically. After the retention period, media is permanently deleted from storage and cannot be recovered. Applicable Studio events enter a 60-day download-only period after cancellation; the separately purchased first Ultimate event keeps its own retention. RSVP data follows the retention setting you choose in your event settings, and deleting an event starts a seven-day recovery window before permanent removal. See the privacy & data page for the full picture.

Service availability & liability

We work hard to keep Guestmarks fast and available — especially on event days — but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we recommend downloading your media once your event is over. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the affected event. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

We may update the service and these terms as Guestmarks grows. If a change meaningfully affects a published event you've paid for, we'll email you before it takes effect. The plan entitlements you purchased won't shrink after you publish.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer rights. Questions, refund requests, or complaints: hello@guestmarks.com.
